LogicMonitor integrates with Terraform to ease management of hybrid IT infrastructure, deliver increased productivity and visibility

LogicMonitor, a SaaS-based performance monitoring platform for enterprise IT, announced on Tuesday a new integration with Terraform, infrastructure-as-code software from HashiCorp. This new integration delivers increased productivity and visibility to IT by automatically configuring hybrid infrastructure into the LogicMonitor platform.

The LogicMonitor provider is used to interact with the resources supported by LogicMonitor. The provider needs to be configured with the proper credentials before it can be used.

Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) is a fast, easy, and reliable way to manage infrastructure and make real-time changes by simplifying infrastructure into editable and actionable code. The LogicMonitor Terraform Provider streamlines infrastructure monitoring workflows so users can automatically add and configure provisioned devices, device groups, and collector groups within the LogicMonitor platform.

“As IT complexity increases, Terraform’s infrastructure-as-code model gives us the flexibility to provision and manage applications in a hybrid/multi-cloud ecosystem” said Robert Tsai, Technical Operations Architect at LogMeIn. “The LogicMonitor Terraform Provider makes it easy to ensure our application components are monitored in a consistent state throughout our ecosystem.”

According to Jeff Behl, Chief Product Officer at LogicMonitor, “the days of copying and pasting commands across remote terminals are long gone. As more and more companies use the public cloud, DevOps teams are utilizing automation tools to create large multi-cloud environments with the click of a button.”

From Enterprise IT teams responsible for diverse IT environments, to Managed Service Providers that spin up entire infrastructures for clients, customers can gain operational efficiencies by utilizing the LogicMonitor Terraform Provider to incorporate monitoring into their infrastructure-as-code process, said Behl.

In March, LogicMonitor announced a technology integration to support Stride, Atlassian’s new communication tool. LogicMonitor users can now view, acknowledge, and respond to IT performance issues directly from Stride.

The benefits of this LogicMonitor integration allowed users to receive and acknowledge monitoring alerts, schedule downtime directly from Stride rooms, and quickly communicate alert information across teams; view device information, alert details, and graphs in Stride; tag LogicMonitor graphs with important events from a message action; and bot functionality for instant account, alert, and device information.
