Luminate releases Microsoft Azure integration solution; delivers secured access to hosted corporate applications

Luminate Security, provider of a universal platform for secure access to corporate applications in hybrid cloud environments, announced on Wednesday that its agentless Secure Access Cloud platform is fully integrated with Microsoft Azure, providing direct, secure access to applications and services deployed on Azure. Luminate’s platform also integrates with Azure Active Directory for authentication and policy management throughout the lifetime of the user’s session.

As organizations are transferring their data centers to the cloud, their corporate IT security operations need to shift. Traditional access security tools were designed for solutions such as site-to-site and remote access VPNs, making cloud connections complex and insufficiently secure while breaking up the cloud-user experience.

Based on Software Defined Perimeter (SDP) principles, Luminate enables organizations to roll out corporate services with the speed, security, and agility that matches the dynamic nature of modern business and replaces network access with secure application access.

By leveraging its integration with Azure Active Directory as well as Azure IaaS and PaaS services, such as virtual machines, container instances, Azure Kubernetes Services, and others, Luminate Secure Access Cloud allows organizations to provide secure access to any corporate IT resource in Azure. With that, Luminate eliminates the complexities and the risks associated with direct network access to corporate data centers, or the internet, while providing easy management that benefits from the existing investment in Azure Active Directory and Azure Active Directory Conditional Access policies.

Azure helps safeguard data and apps, and with Luminate users can incorporate Azure-based app into a hybrid cloud/on-premise secure networking strategy for a consistent hybrid cloud experience.

Luminate’s delivers secured, zero-trust architecture allowing point-to-point, ad-hoc user access to corporate resources; reduced corporate networks attack surface; quick provisioning of access to any corporate application, hosted in the cloud or on-premises; unified security stack for all environments; and real-time visibility and governance of users’ actions to prevent malicious usage of corporate resources. It supports tracking and audit of all application access activities; offers secured access of mobile workforce and third-party users and complete API driven infrastructure, seamlessly integrating with automation and orchestration solutions.

“Traditional security tools that were effective for on-premises data centers can take months to configure when the data centers are distributed and involve cloud hosting. Once in place, these tools may provide users with excessive access to the entire network and increase the network attack surface,” said Luminate CEO Ofer Smadari. “Luminate provides fast and secure access to applications that are hosted on Microsoft Azure without backhauling traffic through the VPN or DMZ. Luminate’s platform takes only five minutes to configure and can be dynamically managed with ease.”

“We are pleased to see Luminate choose to launch its Secure Access Cloud on Microsoft Azure,” said Adwait Joshi, director for product marketing, Azure Security at Microsoft. “By providing secure, quick-to-deploy, easy-to-manage access of authorized users to their applications, Luminate helps simplify the enterprise journey to Azure for both public and hybrid cloud environments.”
