Digital Defense integrates with ForeScout Technologies to provide organizations with complete visualization of network risks

Digital Defense Inc., provider of security assessment solutions, announced on Tuesday integration of their proprietary platform, Frontline Vulnerability Manager (Frontline VM) with  ForeScout Technologies CounterACT. As a member of the ForeScout Technology Partner Program, Digital Defense will work with ForeScout to enable real-time assessment, host analysis and policy-based mitigation of endpoint security risks.

The integration will provide joint customers with continuous visibility of connected devices; prompt response to block or quarantine endpoints with critical vulnerabilities; automated remediation actions; and ability to provide on-demand scans based on ForeScout CounterACT policies.

“The Frontline VM integration with ForeScout CounterACT streamlines remediation efforts and improves organizational processes and efficiencies by automating the workflow process of identifying hosts, scanning for known vulnerabilities and risk of hosts,” said Rosanna Pellegrino, SVP, sales and business development, Digital Defense. “The assimilation of data through the two platforms bolsters security with real-time visibility of managed and unmanaged devices.”

“We are pleased to partner with Digital Defense and offer our joint customers a leading integrated security solution that reduces risk and helps to keep threats out,” said Amy De Salvatore, VP, global strategic alliances, ForeScout. “Together, we are delivering highly accurate network assessments and intelligent automation of workflow processes and policies.”

Designed to be highly scalable to fit the needs of organizations of all sizes, Frontline VM leverages patented scanning technologies to simplify vulnerability scanning programs, providing a lighter- weight, less abrasive scanning experience for network assets, resulting in more complete, comprehensive visibility to rapidly identify areas of high risk.

Frontline VM’s fully functional interface can be accessed whenever or wherever you happen to be on any modern browser, or on tablets and mobile devices. It streamlines workflow with granular filtering and categorizing capabilities to focus efforts on defending enterprise, while driving risk out.

Digital Defense’s Frontline VM is a vulnerability management solution that audits hosts as contiguous entities, reconciles assets utilizing patented correlation algorithms (helping to minimize duplicates or unknown devices), prioritizes vulnerabilities, and automates workflow across the hybrid network to make better risk management decisions, faster. Digital Defense’s Frontline VM, and the ForeScout platform streamline remediation efforts, offering a way to automate workflow process of identifying hosts, scanning for known vulnerabilities and risk of hosts.

As a member of the ForeScout Technology Partner Program, Digital Defense will work with the ForeScout platform to enable real-time assessment, host analysis and policy-based mitigation of endpoint security risks.

The integration between ForeScout and Digital Defense Frontline VM provides as an endpoint attempts to connect to the network, ForeScout is immediately aware of it. ForeScout requests the most recent scan results for the endpoint from Frontline VM. If device is new or there has been no recent scan, ForeScout can request Frontline VM to scan the endpoint for vulnerabilities.

ForeScout can launch a scan from the scan repository based on a ForeScout policy (i.e. have not seen the pre-existing device in 3 days on the network). If critical vulnerabilities exist, ForeScout will automatically quarantine or block the device so it does not become a launching point for advanced threats. ForeScout initializes automated remediation actions, or triggers external remediation via patch management.

Last week,  ForeScout integrated with Carbon Black to fortify endpoint defenses and accelerate threat containment across enterprise networks. The ForeScout Extended Module for Carbon Black combines ForeScout’s agentless visibility capabilities with Carbon Black’s advanced endpoint protection, offering intelligence from Carbon Black for Indicators of Compromise (IoCs), threat hunting, and ForeScout’s automated remediation and threat response.

The integration between ForeScout and Carbon Black will provide joint customers with comprehensive visibility across network-connected devices including BYOD, guest, IoT and off-premises corporate devices; improved security hygiene and Carbon Black agent coverage on supported corporate devices; joint threat hunting to reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR) for advanced threats; and automated threat response and reduced manual processes for improved security operations.
