Synology releases DiskStation Manager 4.3 to maximize cloud potential


Synology Inc. announced this week availability of the official version of DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.3, the latest NAS operating system which runs on DiskStations and RackStations.

“With DSM 4.3, the technologies that used to be affordable and accessible only to large enterprises are now within reach of small and medium businesses and individuals,” said Vic Hsu, CEO of Synology. “It also enables a smarter home cloud that hosts all your photos, music, and videos, and pushes them to different devices.”


Imation updates hybrid storage offerings to meet demanding SAN, NAS workloads


Imation Corp. announced its Nexsan NST unified hybrid storage platform and NestOS 3.0, a highly scalable, flexible storage operating system. The new NST6000 platform adds Fibre Channel support and meets demanding SAN and NAS workloads without sacrificing performance.


New IBM Flex System 16 FC adapters developed by Emulex


IBM announced this week its Flex System FC5054 4-port 16Gb Fibre Channel Adapter and the IBM Flex System FC5052 2-port 16Gb Fibre Channel adapter. Both are designed for x86 and POWER compute nodes.
